Things I’d rather be doing than blogging…
10: Fly a kite. It has been awhile since I have done this. What better way to nurture my inner-child than flying a $2.00 contraption at the local park? I do need a partner to help me get her off the ground. Taking volunteers.
9: Writing actual correspondence to friends and family. (Unofficial New Years resolution.) I received some personalized stationary for Christmas and I need to break it open. You can e-mail me addresses and such if you would like to receive something. Whaaat!? Grab a pen and paper…revealing, shocking, archaic, perhaps—but I can be old school!
8: Alphabetize my DVD collection. Before you laugh…it has been something that has been bugging me. Not that I am a neat freak, but it’s just practical. When you alphabetize…they are simply easier to find. Which leads me to my CD collection…oy…yes, I still buy them things at the store.
7: Take a walk. Enjoy some walking trails around town or even a light jog. Not making any promises about an actual workout. Don’t get all excited…I haven’t bought tennis shoes (kicks for you in the other side of the pond) in ages.
6: Gift wrap instead of bagging a present. I just find there is something more personal about it and a nice plus: they get to rip something open instead of just popping their head into the bag. Remember opening a present when you were littles and the exhiliration of ripping that thing apart? Yeah…that’s the feeling…
5: Crack open a book. And no picture books…lol Been wanting to start reading the Harry Potter series. I think I am so behind on the trend and there are 8 year-olds that could probably read them faster than me. (I shouldn’t reveal so much.)
4: Brush my hair 100 times. Per Jan on the Brady Bunch, it helps stimulate healthy hair. And you know that everything on tv is the truth! An added bonus: looking at myself in the mirror. Eek!
3: Do the running man, Tootsie roll, the Macarena or other silly dances. This helps with circulation and gives my soul a much needed boost. Been heavy-hearted as of late. Or perhaps learn a new dance. Who knows?
2: Make up songs like when I was a little girl (and would perform it for my parents). Nothing worth recording or anything. Pigtails: optional. Singing about being a ballerina or riding ponies is allowed. Clears throat…
And the number 1 thing I’d rather be doing than blogging. Drum roll, please…
1: Take a nap. Doing all of the above has completely wiped me out. Yawn!
(Bare with me–first blog on WordPress so I am still learning how to use it. Any comments, tips or critiques will be appreciated.)
And if you thought mine was alright—this one is way cooler: LeBunny’s list!
