Off to cheery ol’ England

So I hope everyone is fine from when we last spoke, danced together, texted, chatted, sent smoke signals to…you get the drift.

Several developments in my life: my brother was in a bad bicycle accident a little over a month ago.  He is doing better and I actually feel so much better when I talked to him last night when he called to say that “he just wanted to hear my voice”. (tear in my eye) He will be having surgery on July 18th, so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Will be visiting him after I get back from my trip….

Then I am headed to London/Liverpool on July 14th (to arrive there on July 15th). Meeting new Jaiku feebly folks–you know who you are! And catching up with some other London folks. (Hugs to Jana for once again being my hostess!!) I am planning on hitting up the London Zoo and perhaps some fancy pants museum. I am trying to work on my whole “being more cultured” thing! Oh and I can get a picture of something Beatles-y in Liverpool and then show it to my Mama (she was a Beatles fan back in the day)! w00t! <—self-wooting is my favorite. ha

Then to top it all off..I am moving into a new apartment (‘flat’, for you, my British friends). Moving the same week I get back from the U.K.! I need to pack up the last of my uncoordinated plates and 3 pans that I actually own. The saddest part of the whole endeavour was the cleaning out of my closet. Several articles of clothing didn’t fit anymore. :(

I have a couple of things to ask of you:

1. Recommendations for sight-seeing places. I have a list, but ideas would be cool.

2. E-mail me, hit me up on Pressy comments, facebook me while i am gone! I still love getting attention even while I am away. :)

3. Water my plants!

4. Keep me up-to-date on So you think you can dance? Goes and hides in shame…jazzy hands shame!

5. Don’t forget me! I will still Jaiku so you can always find me there!

One teeny, tiny thing: I will actually have a Nokia e62 on me while abroad! One of my buds loaned it to me so I could actually have a working, non-Motorola phone with me. Weeeee!!

I won’t leave you high and dry! That’s not the Chibbi-style!

Check ya’ll later!!

Cheers!

I will be walking by River Thames soon enough.

I can’t wait!!

There are things that I just can’t wait for: ya know–lunch, the next episode of How I Met Your Mother, and the weekend. And I am always waiting around for the next Linux Outlaws podcast!! Shout out to my boy Brit-boy Dan (dantheman on Jaiku) and my dread-locked Fabian (fabsh on Jaiku)! Love you guys… ;)

But then there are things that I really, really can’t wait for:

The Dark Knight…not only to see Christian Bale in the hot bat suit, but to see Heath Ledger’s spine-tingling take on the Joker. I have been intrigued since I first saw Batman Begins…loved it more than the more comic book-type 90′s Batman movie series. (May cause some people to go into convulsions.)

Then there’s Madonna’s new cd: Hard Candy -dropping on April 28, 2008 (Isn’t that what the cool kids call it: “This CD is dropping next week”?)

Disclaimer: Here is where I come out and claim my love for Madge!

Sorry to disappoint and I know that there’s tons of great music out there, but little Chibbi grew up listening to “Material Girl”, “Who’s that girl?”, “Like a virgin”, “Papa don’t preach”…envision lil’ pigtailed Chibbs dancing along!

…and I just can’t deny the 80′s in me!!

Then there’s this great tune (IMHO):

Roll in May 22nd and you will have me jumping up and down, clapping, smiling and, overall, in a happy place.

You may ask yourself: What could cause such commotion in the Chibbi household?

Well, my friend, pay attention! It’s the movie premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull!!! (BREATHE!) I have prepared myself by watching the first three Indy films in the last months to recap.

Cue Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, Cate Blanchett and my fave Shia LaBeouf….and I am smitten. And just look at the movie poster!!

Smoldering Indiana!

Now, I am picking up my jaw off the floor! :P

Last, but certainly not least…is my tripku to jolly ol’ England in July!!

There has been an invitation extended to yours truly from the feebs on the other side of the pond to Feeble Fest 2008 to be held in and around the Liverpool area. Apparently it’s a meetup of the minds, the mentals, and the barely theres…”Feeble Outlaws Jaikooligans UNITE“.

So the plane ticket has been booked for July 18th and that’s the extent of my planning! lol

Can’t wait to get there and meet some new peoples: Overpills, Dantheman, KevanV, Fabsh, Zenith, Carlplage, Alistair, Chemist…among others. (If I didn’t include you–my apologies! My mind is off!)

Let’s just hope that I am “feeble” enough for this bunch!

By the way, what to wear in England in the summer???

Cheers and check ya next time!

Things I’d rather be doing than blogging…

Pondering….
thinking and pondering
10: Fly a kite. It has been awhile since I have done this. What better way to nurture my inner-child than flying a $2.00 contraption at the local park? I do need a partner to help me get her off the ground. Taking volunteers.
9: Writing actual correspondence to friends and family. (Unofficial New Years resolution.) I received some personalized stationary for Christmas and I need to break it open. You can e-mail me addresses and such if you would like to receive something. Whaaat!? Grab a pen and paper…revealing, shocking, archaic, perhaps—but I can be old school!
8: Alphabetize my DVD collection. Before you laugh…it has been something that has been bugging me. Not that I am a neat freak, but it’s just practical. When you alphabetize…they are simply easier to find. Which leads me to my CD collection…oy…yes, I still buy them things at the store.
7: Take a walk. Enjoy some walking trails around town or even a light jog. Not making any promises about an actual workout. Don’t get all excited…I haven’t bought tennis shoes (kicks for you in the other side of the pond) in ages.
6: Gift wrap instead of bagging a present. I just find there is something more personal about it and a nice plus: they get to rip something open instead of just popping their head into the bag. Remember opening a present when you were littles and the exhiliration of ripping that thing apart? Yeah…that’s the feeling…
5: Crack open a book. And no picture books…lol Been wanting to start reading the Harry Potter series. I think I am so behind on the trend and there are 8 year-olds that could probably read them faster than me. (I shouldn’t reveal so much.)
4: Brush my hair 100 times. Per Jan on the Brady Bunch, it helps stimulate healthy hair. And you know that everything on tv is the truth! An added bonus: looking at myself in the mirror. Eek!
3: Do the running man, Tootsie roll, the Macarena or other silly dances. This helps with circulation and gives my soul a much needed boost. Been heavy-hearted as of late. Or perhaps learn a new dance. Who knows?
2: Make up songs like when I was a little girl (and would perform it for my parents). Nothing worth recording or anything. Pigtails: optional. Singing about being a ballerina or riding ponies is allowed. Clears throat…

And the number 1 thing I’d rather be doing than blogging. Drum roll, please…
1: Take a nap. Doing all of the above has completely wiped me out. Yawn!
(Bare with me–first blog on WordPress so I am still learning how to use it. Any comments, tips or critiques will be appreciated.)
And if you thought mine was alright—this one is way cooler: LeBunny’s list!

Hi and thanks for dropping by. Currently, it doesn't look like a lot is going on here(Wordpress is new, tricky and pressy), but you can rest assured that there WILL be a lot going on.

That being said, please come back soon. ;)
