Beckoning the Mac gods…

Picture it: you’re in your pj’s and talking away on the mobile with your friends:
Gab, gab, gab, giggle, gab, gab, giggle…[insert twirl hair]
Then, the never-ending battle of PC vs. Mac convo arises with LeBunny (it always does):
So…for many months now…there have been talks, debates, questions and tears.
No fighting words. We are friends…friends don’t fight over PC vs. Mac (maybe fight over the last fry when at McDonald’s), but never over gadget things. No matter how shiny and fast they may be.
So, there is a faint notion that I, too, can be an owner of a nice, new, shiny….and OH yes, pricey MacBook!
Stop the presses, call the media, notify the paparazzi, close down the local Apple store….heck, call the National Guard!
“Chibbi’s thinking of getting a Mac?” You may ask yourself.
The rumors spread like wildfire during the dry season. Jaiku’s bird can’t keep up! MacBook sales skyrocket. Stock market soars….
But, there are several things left to ponder:
Will the Chibbi run out and get her Mac or was it all a ploy to attract attention?
Are there funds for such expenditure?
Will Sugar Daddies run to her aid?
Are there enough coins in the sofa cushions?
Or will the collection plate be passed around?

Macbook Pro, it’s decided I will get one (as soon as Apple let s know how they will refresh the current line-up). The Chibbi is welcomed to play with mine when she comes over.

I really like the sound of a ChibbiMacBookPro too…like it rolls right off the tongue. C’mon, everyone say it. We’ll say it as we raid our sofa cushions.

Hey Chibbi, I’d just like to point out this isn’t a 2 way battle, don’t confuse the words PC and Windows. PCs can run other things. I’ve just ordered a shiny new Dell XPS m1330 with Ubuntu Linux. It’s cheaper than a MacBook, more powerful, looks great with slim design and choice of colours, plus it runs an open source operating system which is slowly but surely taking over the world (ok I’m biased).
All I ask is that you take a look at an Ubuntu machine before making your decision, if you still want a Mac after that then great go for it. Just take a look, take the blue pill and we’ll show you how deep this rabbit hole goes
Linux is not for hardcore geeks anymore it’s for everyone don’t believe the view people have that Linux is hard like it was 5 years ago. Ok enough preaching sorry but you can run windows in a virtual machine on your desktop if you really need to, which I don’t think you will. Plus you have a team of Linux helpers on Jaiku waiting to help.
